Number and Frequency of Event Announcements

Event promoters should avoid contributing to email fatigue on campus by sending more announcements than necessary to promote an event. Too much email about one event may cause students and employees to overlook announcements about other events or important College information. Guidance for specific types of events and lists is detailed below.

Moderator Role

The moderator will screen submitted messages at least once each business day (normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.). This means that some messages submitted on Friday, as well as any submitted on Saturday or Sunday, may not be released until Monday.

Moderators have the option to either approve or to reject a candidate message. A rejected message is returned to the original sender. Please note that Google Groups does not include a field for the moderator to provide a reason why a message was rejected.

Inevitably cases will arise that will require judgment; that is one of the functions of the moderator. Moderators have the discretion to interpret the rules »Æ¹Ï¾«Æ·best interests of the College.
